I gazed upon the cute, tiny little Key earrings and they measured 11 mm x 5 mm. They had the butterfly earring backs with the beautiful scalloping that you expect from Tiffany.
When I grabbed the earrings, I observed they had a slight weight to them, but they were definitely not overpoweringly heavy. They were the perfect gift.
Since receiving them, I have noticed I automatically grab them instead of my other earrings, as they look great with everything from a t-shirt and jeans to a dress or suit. While they are rose gold, the rose hue is perfectly muted. This suits me fine as they coordinate well with other rose gold and regular yellow gold pieces. Although they are small in size, they seem to stand out quite enough on my frame. They also have a nice shine to them and the shape of the key catches light so well. They are more interesting when compared to simple ball earrings.
As far as wear and tear, these earrings are extraordinarily sturdy. I have not been able to push or deform the earrings in any fashion. The backs never fall off, and I have not pulled the earrings out of my ears when I flick my hair back. The posts are long enough, yet not so long that they gouge you. I love that I can talk on the phone and not have to worry about my earring back working its way off. In fact, these earrings have been so comfortable that I have slept in them, showered in them, and played sports in them without any problems whatsoever.
The Tiffany Mini Key earrings changed my preference for larger earrings and have even beaten out my solitaires. If you are looking for interesting smaller earrings, I would look to Tiffany & Co. You will be surprise how striking they are and how they suit every frame. Not to mention, your earlobes will thank you!
