Sometimes you just need a bigger bag to carry your daily essentials and winter goods. This is where the Louis Vuitton Saleya GM shines. It is deep enough to hold all my daily essentials in the bottom (wallet, make-up bag, key pouch, Louis Vuitton Small Ring Agenda, ear pods, lotion, and a small iPad or laptop) and then stow a light sweater, scarf, and gloves on top!

EXTERIOR OF THE LOUIS VUITTON SALEYA GM
Size
The Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Saleya GM measures 13.75” (base) x 19.5” (top length) x 12.75” (height) x 8.95” (width) with a shoulder strap drop of 7.75”. In comparison, Louis Vuitton’s Neverfull GM measures 15.35” (length) x 12.60” (height) x 7.9” (width).
Shape & Structure
I selected Louis Vuitton’s Damier Azur canvas as it seems light and airy, which really complements the larger casual style of the Saleya GM.
The Saleya GM is a gorgeous trapezoid shape and, unlike the Neverfull, it has a zippered top that keeps your items secure. In my opinion, this is necessary with such a large bag. In addition, the zipper pull is an elongated gold tone bar that is slightly different than the usual zipper pulls you see on most Louis Vuitton pieces. At the ends of the zippered top are the signature Louis Vuitton side tabs. One of the side tabs has the Louis Vuitton “made in” heat stamp. The handles and chaps of the Saleya remind me of the ones on my Speedy. For example, the handles are made of rolled vachetta leather and the chaps have “Louis Vuitton” embossed on the face of each mound shaped rivet. I find the rolled handles to be much more comfortable than the thin handles of my Neverfull.
The Saleya also has an exterior zippered pocket on one side of the bag. In addition, abundant vachetta leather outlines the exterior zippered side pocket, which really adds to the warmth and beauty of the bag. Moreover, the exterior zippered side pocket is spacious with more than enough room to hold a small iPad. Also, the zipper of the exterior side pocket has the same elongated gold tone zipper pull as the top zipper. Both zipper pulls have “Louis Vuitton” embossed on the ends. Finally, the Saleya has vachetta piping around the base of the bag. Unfortunately, there are no feet on the Saleya to protect it a little better.
INTERIOR OF THE LOUIS VUITTON SALEYA GM
The inside of the Saleya is lined with a beige Alcantara lining. There is one really cavernous main compartment and a divided back slip pocket. In addition, there is a d-ring to attach your keys or pochette. While I like a big purse, I also love structure and organization. Therefore, I find that using a purse organizer with the Saleya GM really helps me achieve my goals. I have a Samorga organizer for my Neverfull, but I wanted a more cost effective one for the Saleya.
After a quick search, I found a lovely one from Ztujo on Amazon. The organizer sits nicely on the bottom of the purse and still leaves plenty of room above it to store a light sweater, scarf, and gloves. Also, it matches the beige Alcantara lining. Additionally, the Ztujo purse organizer has plenty of sections and pockets (including a zippered section) and it is way less expensive than the one from Samorga. MAINTENANCE
Treatment
First and foremost, I treat all my Louis Vuitton canvas pieces with Apple Brand Leather Conditioner and then spray the vachetta leather with Apple Brand Garde Rain & Stain Water Repellent. This seems to keep the vachetta leather from getting water stains. In addition, this combination is used frequently in the numerous YouTube videos I have watched regarding the care of Louis Vuitton pieces. Thankfully, so far it has not failed me, but that is just my experience. If you decide to treat your Louis Vuitton pieces, you do so at your own risk.

Cleaning
Exterior Cleaning
To keep the Damier Azur canvas clean, I usually just wipe the exterior of the bag with a white rag dampened with a little water. For times where I get color transfer or dirt on the canvas, I lightly (and I mean very lightly) scrub just the canvas with a soft brush and Zote White Laundry Bar Soap from Amazon. Afterward, I wipe the canvas clean with a white rag dampened with water. I have not had any problems with Zote accidentally removing the blue squares of the Damier Azur, but I have read reports where some people actually scrubbed the blue squares right off from vigorously scrubbing the canvas. As such, you really have to be mindful and accept the risks if you decide to clean your canvas this way.

Interior Cleaning
Additionally, I find the Alcantara lining of the Saleya to be extremely forgiving when it comes to repelling stains, as well as removing them. For example, I got a pen mark on the interior of the exterior zippered side pocket and all I had to do was dab and softly rub the mark with a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab to remove it. I mean, it came right out! Whatever you do, make sure you do not get any alcohol on the canvas.
With such a light purse lining, I find that the entrance to the bag can occasionally get a little grubby from me reaching in and retrieving my wallet, etc. This is especially true when I have lotion all over my hands. For the most part, I am able to clean the Alcantara with a white rag dampened with a little water; however, for stubborn oily spots and grime, I find that Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover works wonderfully. I usually just clean the spots that need it and not the rest of the lining. The Folex spot remover is extremely gentle and dries without leaving any spots behind.

WHERE TO PURCHASE THE LOUIS VUITTON SALEYA GM
Sadly, the Saleya was discontinued by Louis Vuitton; however, you can occasionally find an amazing pre-loved one at Fashionphile.com. The last Saleya GM I saw on Fashionphile was listed as being in very good condition and it cost $665.00. Needless to say, it sold quickly! In my opinion, when Fashionphile says an item is in very good condition, it is darn near perfect.

CONCLUSION
Louis Vuitton’s Saleya GM is a great alternative to the Neverfull, but the zippered top makes the Saleya a much more secure choice. I love to stuff a ton in my winter purse and really hate it when the contents spill out of the top of my Neverfull when it falls over.
In addition, since the Saleya GM is such a large purse, it can hold a ton. This also means that it can get extremely heavy! What I fancy about the Saleya is that it is still comfortable to carry on my shoulder due to the thicker rolled handles. Also, the Saleya GM is both tall and wide enough to hold a laptop without difficulty.
Finally, I adore that I can easily fit all my daily essentials and winter goods into the Saleya GM without any difficulty whatsoever. If you are looking for a great winter purse, I recommend Louis Vuitton’s Saleya GM.
