Appearance of the Calvi Card Holder
The Calvi Card Holder is one of the most visually appealing and interesting designs I have ever seen! The card holder is made of chevre goatskin that folds over and forms two opposing perfect little envelopes. It measures 4.1″ x 2.8″ and is one continuous piece of leather that does not have the typical spine you see on other card holders.
Once folded, the envelopes of the Calvi Card Holder snap together with a palladium plated snap closure. The leather is soft with just the right amount of texture/grain. I adore the feel of the leather – that combined with the quality and the crispness of the snap closure makes me want to hold this piece in my hands all day! I often find myself rubbing the leather or opening and closing the snap while waiting at the checkout stand. It also has a subtle sheen that adds to its luxurious look. The quality of Hermes really shows in this piece, as it is extremely scratch resistant and durable.
Use of the Hermes Chevre Mysore Calvi Card Holder
I use the Calvi Card Holder as a compact wallet for everyday use. This wallet holds it shape and resists looking ragged despite being tossed into my purse and stuffed in my back pocket. In addition, I am pleasantly surprised with how many cards it holds. I easily fit 5 cards in each envelope/pocket (for a total of 10 cards) and it still snaps closed without bulging. You can’t carry much cash, but that is the trade-off when you want a compact wallet that can fit in even the smallest handbag. Hermes has some beautiful colors, but I absolutely love the bright rose! It makes it easy to find my wallet in any handbag.
Ultimately, the Calvi Card Holder makes a wonderful compact wallet. In addition, it is an excellent demonstration of the luxury and sophistication of Hermes!
