The Gucci Marmont Small Camera Bag is made in Italy and is crafted in quality matelassé leather with a beautiful chevron design. I mean the chevron design is a true showstopper that highlights the smooth leather and it really adds that little something special to the look of Gucci’s camera bag. This bag has a softly structured shape and a nice secure zip top closure with elongated leather zipper pulls. The front of the camera bag showcases the gilded double-G hardware and there’s a stitched double-G logo on the back.
The chain shoulder strap has a leather shoulder detail, which really makes this bag a comfortable carry. The inside of Gucci’s camera bag has a microfiber lining with a suede-like finish and has a handy interior wall pocket. The bag measures 9 ½”W x 5 ½”H x 3″D. It has a 13 ½”– 23.5″ convertible strap drop and weighs only .9 lbs. The adjustable shoulder strap has five holes and a beautiful golden stud. I have not had to adjust the strap so far as it works well on my frame as both a crossbody and an over-the-shoulder bag.
I ordered mine online from Gucci and the wrapping is really impressive! It comes enclosed in a beautiful Gucci box with bold black ribbons tied around it. Included is a silky dust bag, lots of Gucci paper, and a large Gucci shopping bag.
The leather of the Gucci camera bag is luxuriously soft. The chain is absolutely perfect. It does not twist or kink, and it is amazingly light and durable. I recently considered the Louis Vuitton New Wave Camera Bag, but I found that I prefer the feel of the leather on Gucci’s camera bag more. I also considered Gucci’s mini camera bag, but it is considerably smaller, and it does not have an adjustable strap like the small bag does.
I love carrying this crossbody bag on the weekends, but I find that I also get quite a bit of use out of it during the weekdays as well. It is perfect for heading to lunch or appointments. It also is small enough that I can drop it in a larger tote if I need to carry a ton more. Not to mention, this is an exceptional handbag for travel since it’s safe and secure, lightweight, and hands-free – as it is a crossbody. As for styling, the details incorporated by Gucci make the small camera bag really elegant which helps the bag transition from a casual outfit to a dressy outfit.
With the small size I can easily fit all my daily essentials such as a small wallet, Louis Vuitton key pouch, cell phone, Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessories (stuffed with make-up), a pack of gum, and my small travel camera – it is a camera bag after all! On top of all that, it also easily holds a pair of sunglasses.
The Gucci Marmont Small Camera Bag costs $1,290.00. Conversely, the mini costs $980.00, and Louis Vuitton’s camera bag costs $1,800.00. I read comments about individuals having problems with the leather of Gucci’s camera bag wrinkling, but thankfully I have not had that experience. As far as wear and tear, I love this bag. It has been used a lot, but still shows no signs of wear. All I do to maintain it is to wipe it off with a soft microfiber cloth and occasionally use a leather conditioner.
I selected Gucci’s camera bag because I thought it looked pretty subdued; however, its presence cannot be ignored. It is a super trendy bag that gets a ton of looks. Undoubtedly, the Gucci logo really grabs attention. I regularly have people complement my bag, which is a nice way of striking up a conversation.
If you are tempted to add Gucci’s small camera bag to your collection, I can say it is definitely worth it. I have not been disappointed with how much it holds, and the quality is undeniable.
