PRESENTATION
The hunt was on for a dusty pink Gucci Marmont Matelassé Leather Card Case! I had a discount code for a purchase from Bergdorf Goodman, so purchasing one from them was a no-brainer for me. The card holder arrived safe and sound. It included a dainty dust bag and was nestled within a tiny little Gucci box. Unlike purchasing directly from Gucci, mine did not come with the black Gucci ribbon tied around it. In addition, Bergdorf Goodman did require a signature for delivery, which I was unable to have waived by the company.
EXTERIOR OF THE GUCCI MARMONT MATELASSÉ LEATHER CARD CASE
The exterior has the intricate chevron design and striking double G hardware, the hallmark of the fashion house. Of course, it is crafted in Italy of soft matelassé leather with antique gold-toned hardware. Likewise, the nude/pink color is absolutely beautiful! It contrasts nicely with my black handbags.
WEAR & MAINTENANCE
I always worry about small leather goods since they experience more wear and tear, but most of the reviews I read prior to purchasing the Gucci Marmont Matelassé Leather Card Case noted that it held up fairly well. This piece is quite new to me and time will tell. After a month of pretty frequent use, I have not noticed even one single scratch! Also, I also have not experienced any color transfer at all.
As far as maintenance, Gucci’s website makes note not to get the Matelassé Leather wet. If you do so, Gucci says to dry it immediately with a soft cloth. That is all I have done so far; however, I will probably condition the leather with a quality leather conditioner as well. I would make sure you clean this light colored piece with a cleaning cloth that will not transfer any color to the leather. For instance, I used a trusty old white pillowcase. As far as storage, I plan on storing mine in its dust bag. It is pretty humid where I live, so I usually do not store my luxury goods in boxes as it seems to lead to musty and moldy conditions.
INTERIOR OF THE GUCCI CARD CASE
The Gucci Marmont Matelassé Leather Card Case only has 4 credit card slots that are fabric covered. Overall, they do not give much at all. In addition, the most I have been able to fit is 7 cards, and this was only by doubling up on some of the slots. When I did so, it was pretty hard to pull my cards out. Overall, I would say this is for use when you are really committed to going compact for a few days. The center pocket seems to be the best to stow a few dollars, albeit limited.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, this is a truly compact card case. It currently costs $250.00, and you can check it out here:
I love the feel of Gucci’s leather – it is super soft. If you carry more than five cards, I would recommend a card holder from Chanel. You can read about it here:

It will cost you a little more but gives you much more versatility.
