What was I really looking for? Should I wait until my SA could locate one? Problem was, we were headed to New York and I really wanted a compact and luxurious handbag that would look great when we went to dinner with clients. I also knew I would not have time to swing by a boutique in New York once we landed. The hunt began.
Compact and luxurious? Did it have to be Chanel? Did I really need the caviar leather? I made my list and determined that Chanel was the way to go because I wanted a statement piece. In addition, I decided that lambskin or caviar leather would work great since I have other lambskin pieces and they are not overly delicate. I began reviewing Instagram, YouTube channels, and posts from numerous fashion bloggers to look for options. That was when I noticed the Chanel Lambskin Quilted CC Box Clutch With Chain. When I read that I could use it as a shoulder carry, cross-body, or detach the chain and use it as a clutch, I became intrigued. Once I noticed that I could place my phone in one of the two zippered compartments, or in the center pocket (for easy access), my search was over! Now, could I locate one?
I went back to the boutique and perused the store. Unfortunately, my local boutique did not have a Clutch with Chain in stock, but my SA told me they could search for one. She also warned me it could take longer than I wanted to wait.

I returned home and went straight to Fashionphile.com.
I knew if they had one, it would be authentic and described accurately. Moreover, I could have it delivered quickly! The overnight delivery charge is extra, but I find it to cost less than other luxury resale websites.
My Fashionphile search began and… there it was – a black lambskin Quilted CC Box Clutch with Chain! The clutch featured a bright and shiny silver chain link leather threaded strap. The front flap was adorned with a two-tone silver and black Chanel CC logo closure. It was also in excellent condition with the box, dust bag, and authenticity card. I ordered it and requested overnight delivery.
My Chanel Lambskin Quilted CC Box Clutch With Chain arrived as promised and it was stunning. Perfect for what I needed! It measures 7.25” x 3.75” x 1.25” and the drop is approximately 23.75”. I went ahead and took it to get it authenticated by a professional and, in true Fashionphile form, it was. The clutch opens with two top zippers and has a black interior with card slots.
The clasp is hearty and strong – I never worry about it opening up accidentally.
The chain has kept its slinkiness and the leather threaded through the strap has not worn one bit. It is so easy to detach the strap and use the bag fully as a clutch.
My phone stays securely in the center compartment, but the strap closure assures that it never slips out inadvertently.
I have swung this little clutch around everywhere and thrown it on tables at restaurants. I have not noticed any corner wear, but there are now scratches on the beautiful silver CC’s, totally my fault. My phone fits in the center pocket without any problems (Note 9).
In the end, I thought I wanted a black caviar Chanel WOC, but the Chanel Lambskin Quilted CC Box Clutch With Chain stole my heart!
