PRESENTATION & USE
The Chanel Boy Zipped Coin Purse comes in a black shopping bag that has a Camellia flower adhered to it. The bag contains white tissue paper that cradles the black Chanel box. The box has a white ribbon tied around it, and there is another Camellia flower. Once you open the box, there is a super thick black dust bag that has Chanel embossed on the flap. Above all, inside the dust bag is the Coin Purse along with the authenticity card and product care booklet.
I use the Chanel Boy Zipped Coin Purse as a compact wallet since it only measures 4.3“x 2.9”x.8” and effortlessly fits into some smaller handbags such as the Chanel Wallet on Chain, Louis Vuitton Favorite PM, and the Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessories NM.
EXTERIOR OF THE BOY ZIPPED COIN PURSE
STRUCTURE
The exterior has the famous stitched lines of Chanel’s Boy line and an eye-catching metal matte gold faux Boy CC lock. I have noticed that the matte appearance of the lock on my wallet has become more reflective from where it rubs against other objects in my purse; however, it is not enough to distract from the beauty of the piece. The wallet is composed of luxuriously soft quilted lambskin leather that is both durable and stylish.
WEAR & MAINTENANCE
Since it is a small leather good, I handle it frequently and subject it to more wear and tear as compared with a handbag. Despite this, Chanel’s Boy Zipped Coin Purse handles it all in stride. For example, the quilts remain puffy and full even with tons of use. Also, I have accidentally brushed the soft lambskin against the zipper of my handbag and scuffed it pretty good. Thankfully, a light massage with my finger seemed to “heal” the leather. For more serious scuffs, all I had to do was massage a little leather conditioner on the area and they also seem to disappear. Although my sales associate cautioned against using any conditioners on Chanel’s leather, I have done so without any complications. Since experiencing the resilience of the Boy Zipped Coin Purse, I no longer shy away from Chanel’s lambskin leather.
ZIPPER OF THE CHANEL BOY ZIPPED COIN PURSE
The zipper for this piece goes around three sides of the wallet and has plastic teeth, a metal slider, and a leather pull. I wish the zipper teeth were metal rather than plastic, but they seem to be holding up really well. A plus is that the plastic zipper will not tarnish, and it does not seem to scratch other objects that it rubs against in my purse. The leather tab has a pretty decent glazing on the edges.
INTERIOR OF THE CHANEL BOY ZIPPED COIN PURSE
STRUCTURE
The Boy Zipped Coin Purse opens to reveal three card areas that are separated by panels and expand slightly via accordion-style gussets. The inside is covered in what appears to be a heavy silk faille fabric with the portion of the gusset that faces the zipper being covered in leather.
WEAR & MAINTENANCE
I have several other Chanel pieces that have the same fabric interior, which wears pretty well. I use gentle pressure and a cloth dampened with a little water to clean the fabric. You will want to make sure that the cleaning cloth you select will not transfer any color to the fabric lining. I use either an old white pillowcase, t-shirt, or a microfiber cloth. I have also cleaned the fabric zipper tape with a damp clean white cloth or cotton swab without any problems. Inside there is a hologram sticker and the Chanel ® label that tells you where the piece was made.
USE & BENEFITS
The three compartments really help to keep me organized, and the gussets allow this beauty to open up enough so I can find what I need when I check-out. Looks are deceiving with this piece as it easily fits some cash, my driver’s license, and around eighteen other cards like my insurance cards, loyalty cards, and credit cards. I have to fold my cash into thirds to get it to fit, but that happens with most small wallets.
There is enough clearance between the top of the cards and the zipper of the Chanel Boy Zipped Coin Purse to assure that the cards and cash do not get caught in the zipper when you open or close it. While it holds quite a bit, I try not to add so much that the seams experience excessive stress when the wallet is zipped closed. Finally, I never use coins in it as I find that they leave a dirty residue.

The quality is amazing, and I love the look and feel of this piece. The leather is slick and buttery soft when you hold it. The faux lock on the front is substantial and feels solid when touched. Not to mention, the wallet holds an adequate number of cards and cash. I like to rotate my purses and SLGs to avoid excessive wear and tear to one particular item; however, all too often I find myself reaching for this piece of eye candy. Using Chanel’s Boy Zipped Coin Purse makes me feel so special and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. It screams luxury and is one piece that you just have to own if you love Chanel!
